The Over/Under

If you recall much of my last post dealt with the upcoming road construction lane closures on I75/475 and the confusion about the detours.  Well to continue that discussion the LR Dr. was at lunch on Thursday and asked if everyone had read the Perrysburg Messenger's piece about the closures.  Some of us and most of us hadn't.  He said they really did a good job of graphically showing what was going to happen and the routing of the detours (he was right).  That same evening the Nurse and I had dinner with the SD and TGWH (and wives) on our monthly pilgrimage to the Beirut  (the SD has been teaching us how to order Lebanese for several years).  Well, the conversation turned to the aforementioned topic and what a mess it was going to be this summer.   We wondered how many accidents would happen on a daily basis.  The consensus seemed to be at least 60.  Which gave me the idea to start an Over/Under Pool.  I don't have the details worked out yet, but expect to before construction starts.  My biggest concern is how to get an accurate count of traffic disrupting accidents.  I have a nephew who works for ODOT (he's an engineer) who may be able to help in that regard.   The entry fee will be $5.00.  Who knows you could be a big winner.  Stay tuned for details.

We had a big crowd on Thursday.  Maybe people thought there was another free lunch, but no such luck. As usual the conversation was lively, but didn't really have any solutions for all the problems we seem to hear about.  I'll give Dr. J credit he keeps trying to figure out ways we can have the SOTD in the casino.  I keep telling him they frown on gambling they don't run.  I guess he is in SOTD withdrawal. It won't be long before we can resume the game.

The weather today is really outstanding.  The only problem is the wind is blowing at a steady 25 mph which make almost impossible to play golf (that's coming from LTG who will play whenever possible).  Maybe Sunday will be better.

See ya at lunch.

PS - Saw TZ at Moe's the other night.  Said he was in town for his monthly visit to make sure his company was still there.
