A New Captain
It is good for everyone to get a chance to be the leader of the pack. Remember if you never get to be the lead sled dog the scenery never changes. Well yesterday was LBB's turn. Well, after having everything arranged player #11 showed up and threw a wrench (plumber humor) in the works. To quote the Commish "it's hard to herd cats". After a little consultation, and under breath muttering LBB made the necessary adjustments and we got off the tee. Not playing with your partner was new touch and a touch I liked (do you think we might see that again?). Because of the blind draw aspect Dave H was a two way winner. After a lot of complaining by the "cats" he was paid and then started lamenting the fact he was too old to attract the two blonds sitting on the patio even though he had enough money to buy them a drink.
I noticed a definite change in the attitude toward putting in my group. The friendship range seemed to shrink as everyone was starting to prepare for our upcoming championship. We might want institute a standard for gimmes; say 12 inches. Plus, I'm not hearing many complaints any more about the 1st tee rule. Only TTS is still trying to hit until he's happy. By the way, I talked with Ron M and he is writing his trophy presentation speech while in California.
Has anyone noticed John G is off working on his game in a secret location? I know he said he was going to Vermont, but I really think he's working with Butch Harmon.
The rest of the week looks good. See you at the training table.
