We caught the heavy weather on the final leg of our trip home. This was one of the few times we have pulled off the road to wait the storm out. I'm a bit of ahead of myself so let me back up. On our return from the Myrtle Beach area we stopped in Germantown to see the family for a couple of days. After watching the Browns implode we decided to hit the road at halftime. If we hadn't stopped for chili we would have been home before the heavy weather. Anyway we were watching the weather map as we made our way north on I75. At Lima we heard the tornado sirens and watched the sky really turn black. We seemed to just be ahead of everything until we got to Cygnet. Then heavy rain started and the wind really picked up. It got so bad that I decided to pull into the rest stop before Route 6 and let it pass (couldn't see to drive). After about 15 minutes we resumed driving. When we got to the split it was really erie, no lights anywhere. The only thing working were the traffic lights. Of coures without electricity we couldn't open the garage door. After finding a flashlight we got in the front door and managed to light some candles. After about 2 hours the power came back on and life returned to normal. Based on the news we probably dodged a bullet on the highway. This isn't the first time we've run into bad storms between here and Dayton.
The highlight of the trip for the Nurse was when she had me down three shots coming into the last three holes while playing at Pine Lakes International (The Grand Daddy). I was playing poorly and having back spasms. She was playing really well (best round of 2013). I had to reach down and par the last hole to keep my honor. But let me tell you it was really close. Overall we had good weather and a nice time. We hadn't been to the Grand Strand in a number of years. It has really become very commercial and congested.
I heard Tx2 had a hole in one recently. I wonder if he was using that women's hybrid he carries? I'm sure we'll get all the details at the the winter dance.
Gotta go to the gym and then pick up the mail.
