Normally playing golf on April 29Th wouldn't be too unusual but this year it seems to be the exception. The rains finally abated long enough for the course to dry out enough for carts to be allowed out. I know people have been walking but it has really been pretty sloppy. It was still pretty wet, but playable if you didn't mind all the grass clippings and losing your ball in the rough. So with nothing better to do the Social Director, TTS and I teed it up (TGWH is Basking in the sun in Hilton Head). After a bit of a slippery start we settled into a rhythm and lost five skins to TTS on the front side. It was a case of him playing like he used to and us not being able to "hit a cow in the arse with a shovel". Things did improve on the backside with him coming back to earth and us finding our groove. But, in the end he was still the net winner.
It was heartening to see the grill room full of happy golfers having lunch. There seemed to be a lot of new faces to go with the old familiar ones. Too bad Brad had to cancel the first demo day. But, the range is still too wet. This is the first time I can remember it has not been open in April. I suppose a discount on our range fee is too much to hope for.
Blogspot.com seams to have most of there problems fixed so maybe I can publish on a more regular basis. Of course it would help if we can play so I have something to write about. The coming week shows some promise so keep your fingers crossed . Let's be thankful we haven't had to endure what the people in the South have gone though with the massive tornadoes that hit them. A little rain seems to just a minor problem.
