A Soggy Thursday

A group of 8 put their waders on and teed it up. Actually it was much drier than expected. Strong breezes coupled with warm temps is having the effect needed to dry the course out. Eric says that with what's coming it will only be great for playability. The rough is starting to grow in spots and we all know what that means.

Scores were better than normal. Playing the blue/white combo may be the reason. Skins were evenly distributed for a change. But these 22 handicaps still can't be relied on to play the way you expect. Second day in a row that Ron M. "Shanged" everyone on 18. This can't last and remember golf greed is a terrible thing. Even the new guy Tony A got in the act and may 4 for 3 on the 1st hole after saying he was a 20 something. He didn't tell us he was Ron's nephew before we agreed to give him 22 shots until he establishes his real handicap. Not to worry, he had beginners luck and quickly reverted to form.

Tommy Two Sweaters was noticeably absent and tried to convince me he was working. I really suspect his sweaters were in the wash and he thought he would be cold with only a windshirt.

See you guys in a week. Off to Hilton Head with Ron and Dean (and their better half's). Will probably have a remote report sometime during the week. Hit em straight and far.

PS - The shake of the day pot continues to grow. Only a couple of close calls.
