Catching Up!

Wow! It can't be possible that a week has gone by since my last posting.  There has been a lot going on and time got away from me.

Last weekend was filled with a lot of golf.  Since the GWH was on safari LTG filled in on Saturday.  A lively game of COD saw the SD and I win a few $'s on the last six holes.  Sunday LTG and I lost a hard fought Old Pal match.  We had it in hand but couldn't hold off our opponents on the last four holes.  We had to win 18 to extend the match, but lost to a par.  Just too many stokes against us.

Monday the Nurse and I went to G-town to see the Rabbit Wrangler and Miss Emma.  We had a nice visit, but I ended up with back spasms and could barely move on Tuesday.  So I turned everything over to KC and the Lr. Dr. for a couple of days.  Finally on Thursday I was able to swing and returned to the battlefield.  But, I still had to have the Lr. Dr. run things since I had a meeting that ran past noon.  I'm not sure how things turned out since I had to hustle off to a Greens Comm. meeting after golf.  Since I didn't find any money in my locker I presume we didn't place.

Kudos to KC for organizing the lunch for the grounds staff.  Eric said they really appreciated it.  It was good see all the JRSRs who showed up to join in.  Eric and his crew are starting to get on a normal schedule after a brutal winter and challenging spring.  They are now getting to the detail work that sets any course apart.  Yes the greens were slow on Thursday, but weren't cut due to all the rain on Wednesday night.  As they dry out the speed will come back.  I've heard a lot of questions about the bunkers.  Well drainage is the issue,  and a spare $400K would cure it.  I think we're all happy with the bunkers on #4, but remember they were completely rebuilt with the renovation work.  Unfortunately bunkers are well down the priority list.

Friday night couple's golf today.  The format sounds like fun.  Hope to see you there.
