The Nurse and I missed our first winter dance this past weekend since becoming members of BCC (23 straight). I understand a great time was had by all. However we also had a great time in Raleigh, N.C. at the wedding of Slap Shot's daughter. There were a number of us who made the trek south and were rewarded with a fun weekend. You can get all the details directly from Slap Shot but I'll say we're all looking for Salsa Dance classes. And, I've also added "Carnival" to my bucket list.
We detoured on the way and met the GWH and his wife in Asheville to tour the Biltmore estate (evening tour) to see the Christmas decorations. Let me just say that was like Donton Abbey on super steroids. It's hard to think how anyone could build that mansion until you really see it.
I was a little concerned it might be tough driving, but the only problem was a brief period of heavy fog in the mountains. It didn't last long but scary enough. We made great time coming back; left Raleigh at 9 am and pulled in the driveway at 7:30 pm (662 miles). Wish all our trips were that good.
