Almost Here

The new year is almost here.  The Christmas holiday was a  whirlwind of activity.  A relatively quiet Christmas with a few good friends at our house for dinner.  Then the family arrived on Friday for a short visit.  It's always fun with all the activity, especially the dogs.  It took them a while to rediscover the squirrels, but then....  Everyone left on Saturday and then thing s returned to normal.  Or at least as normal as everything gets around here.  I heard the dishwasher give a sigh of relief.

I decided to take the Benz for a spin last Wednesday since it hadn't been driven in a while.  The car ran fine but I got a flat tire coming down Ford Rd just before pulling in the drive way.  It wasn't just a flat, but a big screw through the side wall.  The only saving grace was the tire was due to be replaced anyway.  I had AAA change it for me since it was cold, hard to work on, and just a general pain in the a-- to deal with.  It  took the guy all of 10 minutes vs. me a heck of a lot longer. 

We are in the middle of Bowl Season, and one thing is really clear to me.  Defense is not a big concern to any one .  It seems like most of these games are turning into Track meets. 

Did you see the b-ball game between UT and Duke?  I think UT did about as well as they could and hung in there for quite a while.  It looks like they could do well in the MAC.
