By now I feel confident you have all heard about that our good friend Steve H (aka The Pilot) passed away while returning from Christmas with family. He suffered a stroke while flying back from Columbia and was hospitalized in Florida. Unfortunately he suffered another major stroke which took his life. I'm not normally at a loss for words, but Steve's death was one of those events that causes me to struggle with my thoughts.
I had worked closely over the past several months with Steve on the Long Range Planning Comm. and had developed a deep respect for his commitment to the task at hand. I'm sure all who have worked with him on various projects developed the same feeling. He gave freely of his time to the community, especially Perrysburg Rotary. He always was ready to lend a helping hand. I remember the time I asked him for advice on how to make a base for the JRSR Championship Trophy and he volunteered to make one. He was far more skilled at wood working than I'll ever be, and made a base that will be around long after we're all gone. That's just one of his talents we will all miss.
Details on his funeral have yet to be announced. I'm sure there will be plenty of communication on those matters.
Please keep Steve, Jane and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
