Sports History

January has been truly a month for sports history.  First we had the Buckeyes winning the first national championship playoff.  Then Sunday Coach K, of the Duke Blue devils won his 1000th game.  That is an astounding feat that I can't imagine will be equaled any time soon if ever.  There have been a lot of great coaches,  but very few have the ability and luck to reach the level he did.  Think about how hard it is to have a winning program year in year out with the one and done mentality of today's super player.

Thursday we had another big crowd at the casino.  Fifteen hardy souls showed up for our weekly seminar.  It's too bad we can't have the SOTD.  We could have easily replenished our pot in anticipation of the 2015 season.  I will be mailing a check for $170.00 to the Perrysburg Rotary Foundation at the end of January in memory of The Pilot.  That will leave us with a balance of $1.00 in the pot.

Fortunately none of you have done anything memorable recently that I can report on.  I guess everyone is keeping a low profile.  Check out Golf Galaxy.  They have been having some great deals in January.  I bought a pair of ECCO shoes for $13.00 (after my $10,00 certificate).  They still have some shoes left, not all sizes, but a reasonable selection.  There were even some Footjoys in that price range.  Don't know how much longer those prices will hold, so good luck.  Plus there was some good deals on balls and soft goods.

See ya Thursday,

CC
