Friday Observations
While I didn't play yesterday I stopped by to have a bowl of chowder and hoped for some lively conversation. Well the chowder was good but, the conversation was dead. There was a small outing scheduled and most everyone was tyring to beat the rush. However, there was some noteworthy entertainment. Fred S (aka Boomer) and John G were on the 1st tee and Fred had his 1st new driver of the season. We all know the club manufacturers consider him a beta test sight for all new drivers. It has been said he has his own UPS and FedEx accounts (free) from TaylorMade and Cobra. Well John G was, as usual, tyring to get the latest castoff. For some reason Fred wasn't willing to give it up. They were last seen driving down the 1st fairway in a serious discussion about John being cheap. John kept saying he was thrifty and couldn't help it because of growing up in Vermont. Fred wanted to know what happened to the previous 10 drivers he had given him.
We went back later in the day for Happy Hour and the Friday buffet. Lots of people and conversation. And, a very good mix of old and new members. It was great to see the activity. TTS was even there and looked none the worst for wear.
Remember the annual meeting this Sunday.
