Updates

I have two updates for everyone:

1. Tommy Two Sweaters (TTS) came through his surgery with no problems and should be home Thursday afternoon. The doctor told him he should be able to resume golf by June 8. In case you weren't aware he was having a aneurysm repaired and the doctor said the repair material would still be around well after he had turned to dust. Since TTS is turning into the bionic man he shouldn't expect any sympathy or strokes after he is back.

2. The Golf Committee met yesterday. Nothing really important to report on. Bill Pollert indicated play was ahead of the prior year and with good weather this weekend we could be 1000 rounds ahead of 2008. It was mentioned that players are not fixing ball marks, sanding divots and leaving wood tees all over the place. Let's all do our part and take care of the course.

For those who think the course is playing tough here is a little nugget to consider: The course rating is 71.3 and a 130 slope from the blue tees. That rating is for the scratch golfer. The rating for the bogey golfer is 95.5 from the blue tees at the same slope. So if you are an 18 and been shooting 95 or higher you may not be as bad as you thought.

Remember the annual meeting is this weekend. Also, I'm told the club's new web site is supposed to go active on June 1. This should be a big improvement for all of us.
