Hockey Village

If Detroit is Hockey Town then Toledo must be Hockey Village. The nurse and I went to the Huntington Center last night for our first Walleye game. It was really a fun night. We went with friends from BCC and started by having a quick dinner at Table 44 (too bad we couldn't go to the club). My first time there and I was pleasantly surprised by the whole place. It was like a lot of places I've been to in much larger cities and really quite busy. I'm glad somebody has figured it out (it was also busy when we left the game). Off to the game after dinner and some great seats in the upper section, at the rail straight in line with the goal crease. There was a lot of action and pretty decent hockey. The horn off the Boyer is a great touch. The break between periods is really entertaining what with that huge walleye flying around the area. And of course it there is the Zamboni (never seen 2 before) resurfacing the ice. All in all a nice night without spending a fortune. This is one thing done right. Now if we could get the politicians out of the way maybe a lot more could get done.

Lunch was attended by a small group. Most of the conversation centered around the Governor's speech to Rotary on Monday. It's always good to have someone like LTG to give you the real story. Twinkle Toes was dressed normally for a change but wanted to know why we wouldn't buy his lunch when he was impersonating a homeless person (you can imagine our response). Anyway we didn't solve any of the world's problems but had plenty of ideas. The only consensus was to meet again next Friday. I think Dr. J is getting the itch to buy a new driver. He must have had dinner with Fred recently.

The sun is shinning and they say a warming trend is on the way. It must be true since we seem to be getting a lot of snow/ice sliding off the roof. I suppose the next problems will be flooding due to rapid melting.

See ya next week.
