Some Things Never Change!

That's right it is good to know there really are constants in the universe. Let me elaborate.

Wednesday dawned with the potential to be the warmest day of 2011 so it was only fitting that some of us come out of hibernation and tee it up. Now mind you there was still a lot of snow on the ground so we made a tee time at Tamaron and the simulator. TTS, Jimmy E and I made our way across town to arrive a few minutes early. We shouldn't have worried because true to form there was a backup on the first tee. We finally got started by hitting a few balls on the range and realized we were woefully out of game shape. The starter convinced us that playing Pebble Beach was not a good idea. We selected a Donald Ross creation of his best holes. Our first hole set the stage and we all reverted to our normal games very quickly. TTS was long off the tee, but had problems with the wedge; JE hit it sideways (literally) but ran in some long putts: and I was short off the tee and had to rely on my short game to score. Well after 8 holes of struggle we decided we had enough (actually our time was up). TTS being the East side gourmet suggested that we go to Ruddy's for lunch. So we did and then limped back to P'burg just in time for our naps. We vowed to do it again before we can get on real grass so we can have a leg up on the rest of you Northern couch potatoes. Thoughts of any new equipment evaporated after realizing I can't hit what I have. I'd probably be better off to invest in lessons. But then again memory could be an issue.

The February melt looks like it will continue in earnest today with temps approaching 60. I'm starting to see grass but there is still one heck of a lot of snow out there. I did wash my car after my nap, but it could probably use another one since I did it at the local DIY. But, I think I'll wait a few more days since we may get some rain.

Don't miss Friday lunch. See ya.
