By now I think most of you have seen the SD's email about the auto accident TTS had on Saturday morning. While I don't have many details I have talked with St. Gwen a couple of times and can report the following: TTS is in intensive care at St. V's, and they believe they have finally been able to stabilize him. He is in critical condition and they are hoping to begin the injury evaluation today. A present he is not conscious. I believe they are most concerned with head trauma and keeping his blood pressure up. The blood pressure was a big problem last night and until they can deal with that effectively they can't determine if there are any other serious injuries beyond the head trauma. He is still on a back board and his neck is immobilized.
Now on what happened. TTS was traveling on I75N in Michigan when he hit a patch of black ice at about mile maker 10, lost control of the car and went into a ditch (??). He wasn't wearing his seat belt and was thrown around the inside of the car. I understand he hit his head on the rear window (breaking it) and was found in the backseat by the first responders. The state police said the Lincoln was probably the reason he is still alive.
I have been in contact with St. Gwen who has promised to call me with updates, but said she is not going to respond to phone calls right now. I know this is a difficult time for all of TTS's family. Let's give them space for the near future. The SD and I will be happy to take calls and make updates when we know anything more.
Keep TTS and his family in you prayers and thoughts. This reminds life is fragile and you never know what is around the bend.
