New Champions

New champions were crowned last week at our championship.  Fittingly it took two playoffs to determine the gross and net champions.  Congratulations to Bob D and T Squared.  Both won their playoffs on the #18 par hole.  Both playoffs were exciting and a fitting end to the competition.  As usual there were many stories of success and failure on the course.  Special recognition was given to Slap Shot for being DFL.  His exhibition on his first nine holes was memorable to say the least.  I hope all enjoyed the day and will be back next year.  By the way the Lr Dr. deserves some sympathy for not winning a skin for his net eagle on #18.  His was one of three (imagine that).  I hope everyone was satisfied with the green speed.  They don't roll any better than that.

The weekend saw the return of the JPK tournament.  Between the wind, dampness, and fast greens with challenging pin positions we had another great tournament.  A couple of young flat bellies prevailed, but not without a fight from the field.  Aren't you glad you don't have to play alternate shot every day.  That's all I'll say since I heard a lot of "how could my partner do that"!  But it was still great fun.  Again the greens were really great.  Kudos to our grounds staff.

The week looks good weather wise.  Lots of golf left before the weather really gets bad.  We are planning on holding our first par three championship before the prime rib dinner.  Stay tuned for details.
