New Names

We resumed our Saturday game today since the SD came off of the IR list to tee it up.  The GWH and the SD were their normal selves.  Started strong and then went to sleep for a few holes.  When they came out of their slumber Dr. AH had gone one a mini run of four straight pars by making some impossible putts (now known Poultering ).  When he stopped I stepped in with a big bomb that had them shaking their heads.  It was at that point that Dr. AH asked how are Gimpy and Guppy going to top that.  The new names stuck for the rest of the round.  To make a long story short we didn't rub it in and settled for winning $4.00.

Now you can guess where Gimpy came from.  But how about Guppy?  This moniker for the GWH goes back to his college football days.  I learned of it when I had one of my old high school football teammates as a guest on Thursday.  He had played ball with the GWH (aka Guppy) at UT and was sorry he couldn't make it to join the round.  He told me I would have to have the GWH tell me how he came to be know as Guppy.  So far he hasn't really given me the complete story.  Can't say as I blame him.  And, by the way our mutual friend shot three over on the front side with an OB.  The putting got him on the back as he carded 82 for the round.

The weather looks like it will hold for the next week.  But we'll have to play around the greens aerification on Tuesday
