Every Once In A While

Occasionally it serves the purpose to fall a bit short.  Such was the case Saturday.  We were having a hard fought match with our worthy competition.  Coming into the last hole the match could swing either way.  It actually came down to the last putt.  Unfortunately Dr. AH and I both missed difficult but makable putts, and lost acouple of bucks in the final accounting.  While not happy losing I did realize that a small loss can pay off  in the long run.  Our opponents now have hope that they will prevail and will eagerly look forward to the next match.  I know there are no sure things in life and especially golf,  but you don't want to discourage the underdogs.

Remember we are having our annual lunch with the grounds crew on Friday.  All JR/SRS are encouraged to attend.  Kennel Club and I are handling the details , but will happily accept contributions to help defray the cost.  These guys have worked hard and provided us we a really great conditioned course.  There were a number of guests on Saturday who said they have never seen BCC in better shape (even better than their own club).

A sign up sheet will be posted on the bulletin board for the The Championship.  Please sign up if you are planning on playing.  Remember if you are well short of the necessary rounds you can still play in the skins game.  If you are reallllly close to qualifying you can apply for a waiver from the tournament committee.  The entry fee is $20.00 (paper money, no coins OTR) payable the day of the tournament.  So mark September 10th on your calendar.

The weather looks good for the upcoming week.
