That Time Of The Year

Annually the publisher of the Webster's Dictionary (or variations there of) come out with a list of new words which have become popular in daily use.  Not to be out done the JR/SR Glossary of Terms is being updated.  Just in the past week there were four new terms born.  Please review the following:

  1. A Wise - the act of hitting the forward tee marker with one's tee shot and having it careen back scattering anyone in the vacinity for fear of their life.  Remember it the erratic shot come to rest in a flower bed the player is entitled to relief without penalty.  If said ball is lost then the standard lost ball applies.
  2. An Ah Stroh - The act of T. C. Cheening a putt (yes a putt).  Standard USGA rules apply.  However an "atta boy" is awarded if the putt is made.  Two strokes are recorded when developing personal putting stats.
  3. Lumberjacked - Hitting the same tree twice (from behind).  This is rather difficult because the odds of having to play the second shot from a position where the the tree is still an obstacle is rather remote.
  4. Chippewa'd - When one partner intentionally leaves his putt short so he can show his partner the line.  This requires real skill since the first putt should have provided the same information.
The annual lunch with the grounds was another success.  I must say that Kennel Club's beans were the hit of the lunch.  Thanks to all the guys that showed up to show their appreciation.

We played golf after the lunch and had a skins game.  I had a hard accepting that my net 2 on #18 wasn't a winner.  I think Silk felt the same way, but he had a couple of other winners to sooth the disappointment.  I didn't.  It looks like another great week before we hit the holiday weekend.

See ya at the training table.
