I was reminded by several of you I hadn't written anything for several days. Well the only excuse I have is that time flies and I wasn't paying attention. Last week was kinda lost with a number of different personal things going on. Friday I went to the doctor ( couldn't find the LR Dr.) and found out I had bursitis in my hip. Now I know why it hurt like hell. Anyway after a shot, pills and some new exercises I seem to be on the mend. But, being left handed I had to learn how to put the tee in the ground with my right. If you haven't tried a change like that it feels pretty unnatural. My playing partners are relieved since they thought I was milking the assistance they were giving me. I'm not sure my golf is improving , but I am getting more sleep.
Saturday was another windy day with below average temps. LTG and I managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory on the last hole to lose a few bucks to the GWH and the SD. Enough said.
Yesterday we had a good turnout - 13 with a guest. Being the nice guys we are we let the newbie win. David B joined us since he had the day off (claims he still works). His playing partners said he putted really well. I'm sure he hasn't had enough time to fear the greens. Of course they really haven't been up to speed yet. Eric says he will start to mow them shorter once the sod patches start to knit in. By the way, I posted an article on the bulletin board about a big meeting held at Oakland Hills CC dealing with the winter damage in the mid west. It was interesting reading. I think we may have been lucky not to have more damage than we did. Scores were pretty close and the scores are starting to improve. We have now reached the point that the rough is growing rapidly and the wind is still strong. We'll see if scores level off for a while.
See ya on Thursday.
