The men's golf season was kicked off on Saturday with a nice event. I'm starting to think we should play the par threes from the gold tees more often. I know #17 is at least easier from that tee. I admit you still have to putt, but the tee shot isn't as big an issue from the golds. I wish I could say I played really well, but that only happened on a few holes. The scores were surprisingly high. Maybe the cool weather was a bigger factor than I thought. Anyway congrats to all the JRSRs who won or placed. I don't remember all of them but do know that OTR, LR Dr, and Twinkle Toes cashed.
I didn't see one person on the golf course on Sunday. I'm sure the weather and Mother's Day had something to do with that. It's too late in the year for frost warnings and cold winds off the lake. Let's hope we're done with this late winter, early spring weather.
Remember Tuesday is the US Open first stage qualifier. This is the biggest field in a long time. There are 75 plus players. The first tee will be open by 12:30 PM so it shouldn't impact our normal play.
See ya,
CC
