Dr AH and I showed up with great expectations yesterday and even started out with very positive results. Somewhere along the way the golf gods awoke and gave the GWH the power to play beyond his skill set. To the best of our knowledge he had the best round of the season, especially with his putter. While we didn't lose as much as we have in the past it was the same song with a new verse. At least the loses were minimized with the skins and the SD went "Oscar Meyer" for a change. As they say, "there is always next time".
The course was drying out and the weather promises to be better next week. I wonder where all the players were? Getting ready for the Divorce Open? Probably not. My guess is a lot of vacations before school starts and the hangover from the club championships. Anyway play looked to be below what we have been experiencing this summer. Don't forget to sign up for the JR/SR Championship. Had dinner on the balcony Friday with our granddaughter (she's five) and have to say there isn't a better place in the area to dine (with the view and everything.) It was very pleasant even with the heat and humidity.
I continue to read news articles about tough weather conditions around the country. One course after another having major turf problems. To date we've been really lucky, but you can see stress signs around the course. Keep your fingers crossed that it doesn't get any worse. Most of our problems seem to be in the rough but things can change in a flash.
See ya at the coffee bar.
