Well not really a true guest day since most of the guests were from the FGG, plus one alumni in the form of the Local Weatherman. But anyway it made the field rather large at 15 players. The group voted against a Silly Season format so we had a 3BB of 3 competition that turned into quite a challenge for most. That was really true for the FGG guys who normally play something a bit easier. Anyway The Lr DR. and his cohorts managed to post minus 6 and walk away with the big prize. My group was dragged down by LTG, who could only manage to shoot 75, and lost a scorecard playoff at minus 2. We started out at minus 2 after 2 and then proceeded to lose 5 shots on #5. It was ugly is all I will say about that. But what a great day weather wise.
Saturday saw the return of the SD. His time away didn't improve his game. As is his pattern he has moments of great brilliance and periods of "what is going on". The short of it is we took $4 from him and the GWH. But another great day in October for golf. I couldn't stick around for the post round banter. I had to hustle off for a memorial service for a former neighbor. This is happening with way too much frequency, but I guess it comes with getting older. No matter I still don't like it.
Several of our friends have started the winter migration. Dickie G, Silk, and KC were leaving for Florida this week. They'll miss the Prime Rib Dinner Wednesday. Hope the rest of you can make it. Also if you missed the "Don't Give Up The Ship" presentation you missed a really interesting evening (regardless of what OTR says). Thanks To Dave W. (not Lof A) for sponsoring the evening.
Great weather is expected for the next few days. Look forward to seeing you at the training table.
